- Look for opportunities to improve communication skills, group involvement, and strategies for implementing chapter goals.
- Plan a yearly chapter meeting to include responsibilities of chapter committees and chairs.
- As former presidents, the committee members are familiar with the membership and can identify those members who show leadership qualities.
- The committee members approach possible candidates to encourage them to take an office, explaining responsibilities and our chapters’ “team approach”.
- After members accept their offices, the committee presents the membership with a slate of
officers to be voted on at a March meeting. - Members make themselves available to the new slate, for questions, concerns and support.
- Members also keep informed about International nominations, and if necessary, fill out endorsement letters for recommendation and encourage others to do the same.
- Print and distribute pamphlets for new initiates at the Initiate’s Tea in January.
- Obtain materials (Video or CD, crest and key) needed to give new initiates a short briefing about Delta Kappa Gamma at the Tea and conduct this meeting.
- Obtain materials and other items needed for any chapter meeting which might have an initiation ceremony. (This would most likely be done at a May meeting).
- Conduct the ceremony with the necessary participants.
- Attend State Meetings in September and January.
- Attend Chapter Executive Meetings.
- Distributing Recommendations for Membership forms to members.
- Filing Recommendations for Membership by October 31 of each year to the State Chair with a copy going to the Chapter President.
- Presenting names and qualifications of those recommended for membership and conducting membership vote at the December Chapter Meeting.
- Filing Confirmation of Invitation to Membership which should include initiate’s name, their sponsor and whether they will attend convention by February 1 of each year to the State Chair with a copy to go to the Chapter President.
- Try to keep up to date on Biographical data for each member.
- Read the obituary columns for possible deaths of our Delta sisters.
- Save necessary obituaries and notify the president / membership of any deaths. This should be sent with an address so members can send condolences.
- Collect data on deceased members so a proper tribute can be made at the “Celebration of Life” ceremony at our State Convention.

- Suggest to Program Committee program ideas to enrich the personal lives of members.
- Nominate outstanding members for the Rose & Key Awards by submitting to the state a summary of their contributions to the society and their community making them worthy of recognition.

- Distribute and collect any surveys coming from the state or international organization
- Make copies for our records.
- Read and become aware of any new research happening at the state or international level using the website, and
newsletters.

- Type letters for dinner meetings stating establishment date, time, menu choice, and program.

- Make membership aware of our Delta scholarship and its deadline encouraging our “Beat the Clock” race which provides the moneys.
- Distribute scholarship applications, plan a meeting with the committee to review applicants and choose a recipient, and write a letter to the recipient regarding the guidelines and amount of the award.
- Notify the School of the chosen scholarship winner. Attend & present scholarship at award ceremony at school’s
request. - Keep members informed of past recipients with addresses if possible. This allows the members to write letters of encouragement to these students.
